Chemical peels are effective for treating fine lines, dark spots, acne, and other skin blemishes. Used together they can eliminate fine wrinkles, correct sun damage, scars, and lighten hyperpigmentation. Depending on how deep you choose to go, you will benefit from some collagen production as well. You also will benefit by getting a smooth and fresher looking skin. To make the peel more effective some skin preparation is required.
What to Expect When
You Come For a TCA and Jessner Peel
Even before you come to the center, when you call us to book an appointment, we will give you a set of pre-treatment instructions that you will need to follow. Best results can be obtained from a chemical peel when you follow a pre-treatment care.
When you come to Urban Radiance for a TCA and Jessner Peel we first assess your skin to make sure that the treatment is right for you. We don’t advise the peel for anyone who currently has a skin infection, rash or allergic reaction. Let your skin heal completely before you choose to do the treatment.
Depending on your skin type and your desired results we will be able to guide you on how deep your peel should be. The TCA and Jessner Peel is a top to mid-layer peel. Different skin conditions respond differently to the depth of the peel.
During the treatment we first clean your skin thoroughly. The chemical solution is then applied to your skin. You might feel a tingling sensation while the solution is being applied, this is completely normal. To make you more comfortable, we apply a cooling gel and ice pack to your skin to prevent the burning sensation.
After the treatment, it is important that you follow our aftercare instructions very carefully. With our instructions your skin will heal faster and you will see the results earlier. We advise you to protect the treated skin from direct sunlight and will recommend moisturizers and protective ointments that you need to use.
In the weeks after the TCA and Jessner Peel your skin will start peeling and soon the new layer will be revealed. Your new skin will have you looking younger and glowing.
